This thread is about stadium matters. I know you have a compulsion to write about me and are now resorting to making up posts for me. For some reason I must have got to you. However this need of yours may derail the thread.

If wakey were to fund a stadium through private funding on a brown field site then good luck to them. Or even wait 4/5 years until the level of public debt has been substantially reduced and then get some public assistance. Even in this later case there may be far more effective ways of spending 'public health funds' than on a stadium for one professional team.

The other concern about a stitch up is the possibility of 'pubic health funds' being channelled towards the stadium.

How does building a 'community stadium' mainly for the benefit of a private rugby team best meet public health objectives?

Instead of getting involved with grandoise schemes these officials should consult with local people and consider the alternatives. Why not allocate these public funds to things such as:

- providing more nutricious food to the elderly by offering wider meals and wheels and community centre funing

- providing better fitness equipment and training in primary schools

- providing additional nutritional training in schools and community centres

- providing grants for gym equipment for amateur sports clubs throughout the area and encourage the local comunity to use them

- provide smaller fitness facilities close to where people actually live.

In this way people with other RL preferences like Cas fans or with no RL affiliations at all can benefit from the use of public funds rather than it go into a stadium for one local professional side. Otherwise it does appear like a 'stitch up'.

As there is no question mark I assume that this is your personal statement. Thankyou. Now do you have comments about the funding of the stadium / council decision making re the stadium? If you and Mutley want to write about me you should pm eachother and not derail this thread.

Sorry to poke a hole in your arguement Jo. BUT.....

Wakefields proposed stadium is coming from the private sector, not the public, the council have no money in the project, nor will they be contributing to the construction or running of the build. So there is no question of us misusing public funds.
The same goes for Castlefords new build.

Anything else before your bedtime you want to know??

.

What are these "pubic health funds" to which you refer? Is this something the good people of Huddersfield have a special need for?
