You made some bad errors tonight but aside from that i thought nearly every video ref decision went against you and cost you the game.
apart from the ones already mentioned imo Ainscough did ground that ball on the line before it bounced out.

OOOh Look. A Hull FC fan telling us that Rovers shouldn't have won. He just posts this into every fans forum after each Rovers victory!

Re: ROBBED AGAIN : Sun Feb 28, 2010 8:14 am
Great game to watch as a neutral and you should have had the game sewn up by half time, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the refs decisions are having a massive influence on games. Making them full time has made no difference what so ever. We have video refs to help make the correct decision but even the clowns in control of them get it wrong. To give Watts the try was a joke, he had no control of the ball and even gave himself up by hitting the ground in frustration.

Gutted for you guys.

Re: ROBBED AGAIN : Sun Feb 28, 2010 9:14 am
that so called try ganson awarded was never a try in the memory of man..it was a blatant knock on..fat little ganson should be demoted after a decision like that.
you can bet if it wouldv'e happened in the middle of the field baldy bentham would have blew up for a knock on.

Ganson will probably get a present from Cummings not demotion. We are getting payback from the Catalan game last year :(

Not seen the incident yet, but if he made contact at the same time as the ball hit the floor, as the rules state it should be a 10m scrum to Cas, or a restart if it was the 5th tackle. Sounds like you got done. Wakey fan.

I'm a neutral so no horse in this race but where did you get these from? I know what you mean about the incorrect play the ball but, as Stevo & Eddie said, incorrect play the balls litter superleague at present so Ganson would not have been justified in denying a try on that basis. If the obstruction is what I think it is, then it simply wasn't obstruction. Your player tackled the dummy runner and that was very clear. I don't know about the offside as there wasn't an offside possibility discussed and I didn't notice an offside during any of HKR's tries.

The last try was a bit of a strange one in that I didn't know such an interpretation of knock on (or rather not a knock on) existed. I automatically thought that final try was a knock on but it would seem not. Something to do with it not having hit the ground before being grounded, or something (like I said, a strange one).

From a neutral's POV a draw would have been the fairest result as both teams made silly errors during different patches in the match, both teams had varying defences at different times in the match and both teams played some extremely entertaining rugby league at most times during the match.

I always look forward to watching Cas as they always, always produce some great attacking football. But your guys really do have to get over letting sound leads go at home! It must be so frustrating as a Cas fan to watch that happen!
I belive for it to be a knock on it has to leave the players hand and travel forward and hit anyother object (other player, ground, post pad etc) but if the ball is regathered by the same player before it hits another object then its playon.
So in this situation the only question in the VR's mind was did the player have control of the grounding.

Thats the way i understand the ruling, not seen it again and did not get a good view last night so can't say if it should have stood, but you are correct.

I agree. At the very best you could say he 'regained control' (i.e. got downward pressure on the ball ) as it hit the ground. Therefore it WAS a knock-on and never a try.
