Whinos are at it again : Wed Feb 04, 2009 7:54 pm
I see that the whinos have been raiding our home grown junior talent again, they have now signed the Castleford Lock Lane forward Daniel Smith, a nephew of former Castleford, Wigan and Hull player Tony Smith.

He's been a part of their scholarship scheme for a while now so it doesn't make it too much of a surprise to be honest, but why are our best up-coming junior players still allowed to slip through our net

Surely junior players from this area must be aware of the progress made by current first team players like westy, shenny, huby and owen to realise that you dont have to go and play academy level at leeds to suceed and move upto SL?

Doubt everything, even this

This close season has been full of Cas announcing the signings of juniors. If we'venot signed Casper's nephew, I'd guess it's because we didn't want to?

but juniors also look at people like burrow, mcguire, sinfield, smith, hall, bailey, diskin, jjb, ablett, watkins, gibson, jones-bishop etc and realise they can come play for Leeds, develop, play SL and win things

in fairness though, Cas seem to be doing well with their youngsters and thats the whole point of scrapping relegation so good on you :)

We're making the most of our success as fans and the clubs are using it to attract lucarative sponsors and lots of young talented players. The club is run extremely well so success should hang around a while yet. But like you say success fades over time so we aren't taking it for granted.

JULIEN RINALDI IS A CAS FAN

Allez Les Catalans

If Cas havent signed him on, Its because he isnt seen as good enough, Or he didnt want to sign for us, Either way i arent bothered - We are snapping up the majority of the very top youngsters so we cant complain
