Good to hear Westerman is fine, hope he recovers quickly and is playing again in the near future.

To be fair, I understand our concerns that it did seem to take a long time to get help to Joe, but the referee didn't know what had happened IMO. If he knew that Joe was down and seriously injured I have no doubt play would have stopped immediately.

This was an unfortunate accident, and I'm sure in hindsight there are many people who feel they could have done something different to stop the incident or get help sooner or whatever. We shouldn't be looking to blame anyone.

Fair enough lets give the ref the benifit of the dought he may have missed it but there are 4 other officials and a bloke in the stands. One of these is the in the goal touch judge who was right in front of our fans who were going crackers trying to allert the ref. Are you telling me he missed it i dought it. In that case the only conclusion i can come to is the bloke is that much of a jobs worth that he didnt have the guts to move off the mark and allert the ref of what was happening.

As i have said previously if the injury to Joe had been more serious then vital seconds would have been lost.

Perhaps they need a system where the hooter blows when a severe looking injury occurs so that everyone on the pitch knows to stop play.

Would that not conflict the current system of timekeepers using the hooter to indicate to the referee when 40 minutes is up?
