I posted this on the Cas Tigers Forum:
In light of the current hubris surrounding the poor performance of the team, plus the fact that this game is:

a. Live on Sky
b. Cats hardly bring any support ( a couple of onion sellers and madames from the Rue Pigalle)
c. We are currently not endearing ourselves to the Castleford rugby loving public

the chances are that this match will be our lowest attendance of the season.

I would like to suggest the BOD grasping this nettle and doing something radical (no, sacking RW/TM is not open for discussion), what I would propose is something simiar to that which Hudds. did last year for a similar fixture against Cats., when they said ' they were to announce the most important statement in the history of the Giants' LOL

(If you are reading this Richard hold on to something solid), what about:
Adults for half price,
Kids for a quid.
Concessions a quid
Family of four for a score

I'm sure that this would attract a crowd of 8000plus which would look good for the TV cameras and would enhance our status in the eyes of the 'powers that be' and would look far better that the anticiapted 4500 supporters.

It's time for Cas Marketing and Media department to start thinking out side the box to attract the floating supporters who are serouisly thinking of NOT attending this match.

Something like this does make a lot of sense.

However:

We have to stop fooling ourselves that our great (comparatively speaking) support is what's crucial.

Quins and the Celts usually struggle to attract 3,000 : is there any real doubt over their respective SL status?

Hate to say it, but:

I'd rather us emulate Wakey for once and, yeah, maybe get a gate in the 4K region; BUT put in a great performance on Sky for once which might go some way towards justifying our own on-field credentials because, as someone whom has been to almost every game over the last half-decade am feeling for the very first time a real sense of deflation and lack of optimism.

Cant see it been as low as 4k tbh. We havent had a crowd as low as that for a super leagiue game since 1997. We got 5600 against warrington which is very poor for us but dont forget England were playing football at the same time. I think this knocked at least a 1200 off our gate. I cant see any reason why we wont 6000 a week on Saturday.

However I still feel a bit of a promotion for the game as mentioned above would see us getting a crowd of aobut 8500 which would look better for the tv.

Also another point is the club is heavily promoting the 69 quid for 5 matches deal at the moment so offering any kind of reduction off a one off game would be a bit silly.
