Was a swimming pool part of the original planning application?
That level of detail wasn't required, assuming the pool is inside the stadium structure and not a separate building.
The initial application just deals with size and scale of the buildings (so a stadium of a certain square footage, hotel, offices...), impact on traffic and the environment, etc.
As this is the most important issue surrounding the club can we start this thread again with only stadia related discussion?
No problem, but as soon as it goes off-topic, the few will have ruined it for the many. Simples.
My guess with regards to the swimming pool is that the council will operate it and will see a better income generated from it due to increased usage (due to location and awareness of its existence) and reduced operational costs due to the multi-use nature of the venue.

TBH Glasshoughton is a great place for the pool what with the shopping centre, Xscape, railway station and the rest.

Me and my mate were saying that when the new stadium is built, no club will be able to offer a day out like it in rl- skiing, swimming, cinema, bowling, lazer tag, ammusements, a huge amounts of shops, bars and resturaunts all within a short walk of the stadium, which will also probably be the most east to get to stadium insl- straight of the m62 if your going by car (with plenty of available free parking), a train station right next to it (believe i read somewhere that we will be getting trains from places like scarborough soon to), buses that run to leeds, wakey, london and hull (and possibley other rl locations). all the ingrediants are there for it tobe a huge success so lets get it built!

It's already ruined with the meerkat impersonations.
Any road...
With the land being offered does this now mean that the local authority will have control of the stadium and a bigger slice of the revenue?
Hard to know what they've agreed tbh. Previous musings would suggest that the pool (& other) Council provided facilities housed in the complex would be owned by WMDC but managed by Cas. I'd be very surprised if the Council owned the whole stadium though on the strength of a swimming pool.
How long do architectural plans take to draw up?
Depends. Don't expect to see anything for at least a couple of months though.
How long is the wait likely to be for full planning permission?
I'd guess it depends. If the final design remains entirely within the footprint of the already approved outline design then I'd hope it should sail through with minimum fuss. If not I'd think there may be a few more hoops to jump through.

Some kind of 'Council facility' clearly was, yes. Whether the original intention was pool, squash court, tennis, five a side, etc, is a moot point.

I just hope nothing goes wrong and it falls through.
