YORKSHIRE RADIO SIGN NEW COMMENTARY DEAL FOR SUPER LEAGUE XV : Fri Jan 22, 2010 11:04 am
Yorkshire Radio has agreed a new 12-month commentary deal with the Rugby Football League for engage Super league XV.
This new deal means Yorkshire Radio will be doubling the number of live games broadcast on the station to 40 during the 2010 season. The new ‘Super League Live’ show will be hosted by Richard Stead with guest summarisers including Andy Raleigh, Danny McGuire, Ryan McGoldrick and Wayne Godwin with shows across the weekend covering games featuring Yorkshire based teams. There will also be a weekly preview show on a Thursday at 6pm looking ahead to the Super League weekend. Ben Fry, station director of Yorkshire Radio, said: “We are delighted to commit to another year of Super League commentary and by doubling the number of games we cover we are giving our listeners even more live rugby league than ever before.” Paul Kimberley, the RFL’s Commercial Director RFL, said “We are delighted to have completed this new deal with Yorkshire Radio and are looking forward to working with them again in 2010.” “Digital radio audiences are increasing year on year and I am sure that Yorkshire Radio’s presence at 40 Engage Super League games this season will help the station attract many new listeners.” Yorkshire Radio is available on DAB Digital Radio, Sky channel 0209, and online at http://www.yorkshireradio.net. |
