Shenton : Sat Feb 20, 2010 2:05 pm
After what looks like losing one of our brightest young english players in Owen for the season im abit concerned about another in Michael Shenton. We have an english international in the backline but we dont play to his strengths,he hardly gets the ball playing outside of
Ferres and only seems to get his hands on it regular when he has a run from dummy half.
So before his confidence gets shot does anybody else agree a change in play in attack to utilize what real talent we do have
or a positional change?.
I cant see T.M changing the attack so.....try Shenton at full-back?
He is sound in defence and good under the high ball (better than Mcgoldrick anyway), plus he can follow the play in attack
from the back where he can follow up breaks and off-loads with his pace.
Then,Terry can (finally)try Mcgoldrick at centres,he and evans wouldnt be too bad would it?, one solid, one abit off-the-cuff.
Turning a good centre into an international full-back has worked before, think Joe Lydon and Tim Brasher in Oz. Thoughts?
