Hull KR Predictions - Onwards and Upwards? : Mon Feb 22, 2010 11:30 am  
So 1 win and 2 defeats going into the game this weekend for both teams. Embarrassing losses for both clubs this past weekend as well so both will be looking to make up for things this week. What do we think will happen?

I'd like to think we'll be the ones who bounce back this weekend but I fear that with Owen missing for the rest of the season at least, we're going to see McGoldrick remain at FB and considering a certain Mr Sherwin appears unlikely to play that TM is going to go with Rangi on his own again.

I reckon we'll pick the same team as last week but with Thompson on the wing to replace Owen.

If our players learn to tackle this week and McGoldrick can link in better with Chase from FB then I think we have a decent chance but I'm not convinced yet.

Still, ever the optimist:

I suspect so. If Widders were fit it would seem likely he'd have played in the halves.

Could Chase @ 6, Netherton @ 7 not be an option?

On the positive side, at least with Sherwin already ruled out, the team have a full week to work on the systems that they'll be relying on come next Saturday, rather than someone being dropped in there at the last minute.

We need to raid the championship or promote Brierly to cover at 7. We cant go on with this play 2 miss 2 business. Going to PNG and pinching a scrum half from a local team would probably be a better option than playing snitch or widders at 6 and Chase at 7!

Gateshead have been looking for the past 2 weeks for an half back. and Brierly is not good enough yet,he would be a spot player all the time

According to Terry's after match interview on Tiger TV, that's exactly the position we were in last weekend.

We will be playing another team who got tonked at home in the previous week.

Half back match ups...Dobson & Cooke(or Murrell)

Chase & ?.

Hull K R aren't playing well but will be up for this, Also given our home record and lousy sky record too it will be close.

Think we will play better than friday but will lose a close one by 4. :(

I fear a tonking is on the cards. K.R getting done to the Giants like they did will have hurt them and will want to but it right on the telly :(

Pretty worried about our line up if Owen and Sherwin are missing. We were terrible on Friday and Morgan will have KR well up for this game. Add to our poor home record, it will be very close!

Heart says Cas 26 - KR 20

Westerman I suspect will play in the halves, Thompson to the wing. If the only injury was Sherwin, then I would probably feel more strongly we give Brierly a chance - but playing 2 youngsters straight in the run on 13 seems tough.

Don't see what other options we have - I would not choose to go this way, but if these guys are going to come through then they have to start sometime.

We knew we'd be threadbare if we got injuries, I just didn't expect to get to round 4 and be without Richie, Widders and Sherwin and Dicko still not back yet.

Missed a prediction:
Heart - Like the Wire game could go either way.
Head - Like Friday
(crowd has a duty of care here not to get booing and give the side some encouragement especially if a couple of kids are starting, lets not get negative before a ball is kicked when the side is announced or if we are behind early doors.)

Really? I haven't seen it.

In that case why was Sherwin even in the 19 (rhetorical question not aimed at you, tb)?
