The saying 'bent as a 9 bob note' has now been dropped.....corrected phrase is 'bent as the RFL!'

Arundel's yellow card? : Sun Feb 13, 2011 10:55 am
I thought giving Arundel a yellow card was a bit harsh yesterday. However, if we take it as being a 'fair cop', in that they had been warned and he was lying on......then surely there should have been another dozen yellow cards issued during the game, to both teams.

Not all that impressed with how Childs reffed the game, but then again it early days yet!!

Child backed himself into a corner blew his whistle so many times he had to get his cards out, I was sick of the camera being on him. Although it was funny after he binned obst and mathers went up to him as time was quickly ticking away up to half time and he was messing about cos he couldn't get his cards back in his pocket - how i wish his whistle had got stuck in his pocket for the second half

And yet Silverwood reffed the Wigan / Saints game to a completely different set of rules as hardly penalised any team for holding down / interference etc !?

You could argue that Childs was spot on with his penalising but all we ask for as fans as i'm sure the players do is for the same rules being applied in each game. How can one ref apply the rules in one way and the next ref totally different ?.......Weird !!!!

Can see teams becoming very confused and frustrated week by week due to the inconsistent applying of the rules each week depending upon which ref you get.

Cummings needs to sort this out over the next few days.

Different referees handle games in different ways which inherently leads to inconsistencies that are never going to be fully resolved. One of the biggest flaws in the game however, which I was discussing with my Grandad last night, is that week in week out, four teams play to a completely different set of rules to the other ten, before you even consider the performance of the man in the middle.

If referee's play to a different set of rules what hopes is there for the players?

PS Does anyone actually know the proper rules they are changed that often? :READING:

Disco - Expansion of the game is a good thing, undoubtedly, but in the main what people simply want to assert is that you don't kill the roots to spread the tree.

The Curtism - The battles are fought on the field and the friends are made in the bar. There's no hatred among real men.

EFC - In Martinez We Trust

How can Snitch be up for an attempted Chicken wing put on report and 2 other incidents of penalties being given for actual chicken wing tackles follow in the other matches, with I would imagine no disciplinary...... :?

Different set of rules again?

For the first games of the season, I thought that the inconsistencies of reffing was pretty poor. To me it also shows that the Cummins and his gang also hadn't communicated what they would be looking for from teams in terms of rules for the new season. Who is reffing us on Saturday?
