been brilliant thus far, playing well and a real professional (on and off the pitch), to say I've been pleased with him would be an understatement...keep it up richie!!

I think he's been a very astute signing by the club. Not only is the first experienced full back at the club since Stuart Donlan (and a better one to boot); he has brought with him a much needed shot of professionalism.
The barking of orders to the players in front of him is a joy to watch and we're really seeing the benefits of his communication and organisational skills in defence.
A good solid start Richie; keep building on it!

was about to create a thread about this fella.

as a wire fan i'm glad he is doing well, had a good fan base at wire.

many thought we were bonkers to get rid for an older model...

from the highlights i have seen he actually looks to have improved as well, good on him.

lets hope he doesn't have a hand in too many tries against us!

At other clubs he seemed to get criticised a lot and i never really understood why apart from being dodgy under high balls but apart from that he's always been quality.

I dont recall him having any issues under the high ball so far this season?

I've always felt pretty confident with him under the high ball

Only worry i have is when he carries the ball in one hand totake on the line.Apart from that he's been a superb signing and a great play this year

Must say that i was one of the more knowledgable posters that actually championed his signing, even though some on here doubted his qualities when the Tigers signed him

Ritchie Mathers is a quality player
But don't ever call him a stand off in denial
