But since signing for Cas, for what I've seen him, I've been very impressed indeed. He is safe under the high balls, strong in the tackle and a good link in the attacking line. Seems to have less pressure on his back and is playing the best rugby I have seen him play.
Have to disagree with you here as IMO Richie has always been a very talented player, i always think that he is a stand off in denial because he really is that good offensively.
I recall him playing 6 against the Aussie schoolboys at Headingley as a junior and he was sensational there.He was also a great player for the Rhinos, if you could only bottle his enthusiasm
I will always regard Richie Mathers as a local lad that made good, i always follow his career and am glad for him that his time at both Warrington and now Cas are proving very successful
