Fantastic achievement from a model pro. Without wanting to detract from Kevin's achievement but does anyone know what Lewis jones points total would be applying modern scoring to his goals and try tally.
This man's humility is second to none. what a pro.
See above...again and again. Sinny once again deflects the glory onto his team-mates. I particularly like the bit about them scoring most of the tries under the sticks to make it easy for him. Not too sure Scott Donald or Ryan Hall would agree though.
Great day yesterday...2 of my sporting heroes reaching milestones that you can't see being eclipsed for many many years
I've said it before and i'll say it again Sinny is our "Bremner" and then some. What a privlage to see this lads career at Leeds and none more deserving of their legendary status. A true gentleman and a pleasure to watch and also to meet him and we are lucky as a club to have yet another "immortal" in the famous Blue 'n' Amber.
I believe Lewis Jones set his record when tries were only worth 3 points!!! In real terms Kevin has a little way to go!!!!
True.....BUT nobody should try to debilitate Sinfield's achievement. It could not happen to a more deserving guy. As others have stated he is a model professional, outstanding captain and a perfect role model. He has no exceptional world beating qualities, but his average skills are complemented and surpassed by his rare invaluable, always-ready-to-hold-his-hand-up 'presence' that never fails to inspire others around him.
A privilege to watch his place in history been cemented.

but lewis jones was a try scorer was he not which is something that sinfield isnt, can anyone tell me how many tries jones scored compared to how many sinfield has now? at the end of the day neither record can me detracted from but SIR Kev is a modern day legend!

Lewis scored 1,244 goals, meaning 2488 points out of a total of 2920. That leaves 432 points from tries, at 3 points per try that's 144 tries.
I think Sir Kev's scored 68 tries, so that's 76 less than Lewis. Of course, all of Lewis' goals were worth 2 points, including drops, but there's no record of the breakdown there, so it makes direct comparisons pretty much impossible.
Oh, and a huge congratulation to Sir Kev, it'll be nice to say in years to come that I was there when the record fell and it's been a honour to watch him over the years
