Just to chuck a couple of stats in, last year he made 777 tackles (2nd in the League) and missed 56 (9th in the league). The previous season he made 817 tackles (3rd in the League) and missed 41 (not in the top 20 in the League).

You can make what you will of these stats, lots of scenarios could explain them. Certainly not work-shy though is he?

In general he is a good tackler, no doubt, on the whole.

In relation to the game, I thought we really saw the captain in him. When Carl did his howler, he dragged him up by the scruff of the neck and had a quiet word in his ear.

I enjoyed the move, when he ran across the line, drawing people in, stepping, passed to Ali then flicked to Senior to score IIRC. That was a great move. That's the direction we have missed from Burrow and Webb. That control of play.

The funny thing is tvoc avoids such 'geeky' stats like the plague.

Edit: Oh dear, I hope that isn't an AP'ism talking about oneself in the third person. Be sure I'm having a quiet word with myself as we speak.

Nah, I just looked on the Superleague website. Tvoc probably has a spreadsheet detailing who each of the tackles were on, how many others were involved and what colour underpants he was wearing. I can only dream of the day when I can rival those kinds of stats.
