A Father's Day present for a Rugby League Dad? : Thu May 14, 2009 7:36 am
Anyone now looking to buy a present for their Dad might find it useful to call in WH Smith in the White Rose Centre on Saturday (May 9th). I will be in there from 11 onwards signing copies of my latest novel 'One Autumn' which is set during the 1992/93 season.
Also on sale there is the Rugby League Review No. 2 which, in its 150 pages, has articles written by some 25 rugby league writers on a wide range of topics including a review of the Eddie Waring biography, highlights of the 1908 Northern Union season, the prospects for rugby league in Cuba, a good plug for our game from David Watkins, a call to get rid of the video ref and how cricket paved the way for rugby league to be established in Australia.
Also on the shelves is 'The Indomitables', an account of that famous 1946 Rugby League Lions Tour of Australia and New Zealand with a team that included such stars as Dai Jenkins, Gus Risman, Trevor Whitcomb, Ken Gee, Joe Egan and Trevor Foster.
