For various reasons last night, the Admiral was confined to quaters and as some of you also know, the present Admiralty Building is in a fairly rural location.

I was just getting in to the game, with Leeds looking good at 0-12 up when there was a muffled thud from the telly, all the lights when out and we were plunged in to darkness.

Clearly the electrical storm somewhere north of Wheldon Road had taken out the power to both mine and the surrounding villages (the city several miles down the road was still on ... Pah !)

And when was power restored ? Yes, a mere TWO minutes AFTER the game had finished.

Thanks heavens for Sky+ and the late-night-repeat of games !

It's taken me three attempts to record the Dragons V Bulldogs game drom yesterday for the same reason.

Thankfully no problems with the 'Live' Castleford recording.

There again I sat down on Friday to watch Boots 'N All and fast forwarded through an hour plus of tennis instead. That'll teach me.

Where do you live? The storm that hit Wheldon Road passed directly over my house 10 mins before. Sounds like you live somewhere near me...

If you think the decision at Cardiff for the Tansey try was dodgy then watch the last second try fiasco on this one !!

Was JJB a tad in front of the kicker ?

Oh you're on the Dragons - Bulldog game.

I commented on that somewhere on here yesterday. Poor Greg Eastwood... again. That lad is jinxed.

Not a million miles from the county town ... To be honest, it must have struck the electrical cables before the storm got to where I am (and after it left Castleford).

It was still rumbling around and heading North by the time the power came on just as the game ended.

luckily enough i was ok during the game. however as i watched lake placid 2 this morning, the bit where the 2 gorgeous girls take there kit off to have a swim the power had gone off and stopped the sky+ recording
