Be full time pro and full off season, so expect next year to be transitional, maybe play 6-8 first team games or more if he looks the part, importantly it ls another big body for coverage and squad rotation, been bare bones in forwards far too much last few years.

Perhaps replaces Muizz? 5-6 games plus reserves.

Still need another front line prop but depth at the position in terms of development is also important.

Yeah I'm into this notion of fashioning front rowers from youngsters who have the requisite physique. Middleweights with big hearts never beat heavies who have the same.

Agree entirely. The fallacy of the 'middles' has hopefully been banished.

Not to mention the fact that if things don't change we can expect our first choice props to spend multiple weeks suspended on top of the usual injuries meaning we need numbers as well.

I live in York and go to odd games.
He's very highly rated.
York are disappointed, but there was an air of inevitability.
He still needs a lot of development, but serious potential.
He might go back on loan next season.
I hope he does.

I get the feeling that he is a fan of big athletic forwards, but not that keen to pay out massive wages to get them.

Yeah I like this sort of recruitment. Young, British, big lad with good athleticism and bags of potential. Wont have cost much in salary either. It fits in perfectly with Smith's coaching in that he particularly enjoys improving young players with talent. Welcome to the Rhinos.

Back row.
But a bit like Walters, he will potentially develop the physique to transition to prop if he fills out.
Played youth and amateur rugby at Heworth and New Earswick, where I know some of the coaches.
He was the biggest lad in the squad, so was usually played at prop.
But his physique now is typically a back row.
Not been pro at York very long, which is why they're disappointed he's moved on so quickly.
But I guess you can't expect him to turn down the opportunity.
Excited to see how he gets on with his development.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays back at york on loan in 2023
