Leeds v St Helens Important Thread Analyzer : Mon Apr 20, 2009 5:24 pm
This is probably the most important thread that will ever get made on Southstander as it will bring along debate about things that really matter! Feel Free to add your own Annalist and comparisons because I know that we all give a drunk squirrels left testicle about this stuff!
Away Fans It really does matter how many away fans you bring to a ground. Its what makes rugby league what it is today. Everyone really cares about how many away fans people bring to stadiums these days. Lets compare Leeds and St Helens away fans at a neutral venue. Lets say Wigan - Whilst most of us go to Blackpool for days out this lot go to Wigan. Hardly an empty seat in the house when the Saints visit Wigan which is wonderful viewing as a Rugby League fan. Not for a Leeds fan though.. Leeds Fans at Wigan does not look good. Empty seats all over the show. In fact Leeds away fans are that bad the Wigan marketing team have resorted to selling tickets for July game against Leeds for as little as £10 for adults and £5 for kids. If you don’t believe me then check this - http://www.wiganwarriors.com/news_full.asp?newsid=4679 Leeds 0 St Helens 1 Mascots Mascots debates are riots in waiting. I’m opening up a can of worms here that can only end in tears. Lets compare the two mascots that represent Leeds Rhinos and St Helens! - Ronnie The Rhino is the envy of every mascot in super league as he’s the only one that has his own wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_The_Rhino . He also inspires kids and Loz alike with his dancing on match day - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GwyQ9PlHZE .Cravendale milk also give Ronnie the Rhinos street cred as well! St Bernard does have a place on wikipedia but only on a list I’m afraid - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mascots . Nothing can be found on Youtube about this mystery mascot. People in St Helens obviously don’t have much of a life if they don’t film St Bernard on match days. Leeds 1 St Helens 1 Leeds Rhinos and St Helens are more a less neck and neck when it comes to anything in this wonderful game of ours. It makes it on jolly good rivalry! |
