Mc Laren Field (For your eyes only) : Sat Apr 25, 2009 9:20 am
I had the temerity to post a seemingly pointless 'thread' (50 years of being nilled) on this message board which I thought was for use by all with a love of Leeds. Plese forgive me. I had the audacity to think that it may be of interest to some people - how wrong I was. No sooner had it been posted then it was pointed out by someone that the thread was pointless - so what? Did it harm anyone, did it cause offence? It was also pointed out to me that the list was incomplete. Top marks - it was I had ommitted 2 games, so I edited the original post and included them. Being an amateur at the message board game I accidentally posted it 3 times. Apparently this is a capital offence. Thank God hanging has been abolished. So what happened? People with nothing but vitriol running through their veins saw fit to lampoon the post, which did state that I only included league matches, by also posting the same message 3 times. Then in your omnipotence you decide that I am someone other than who I profess to be and 'lock' the thread. I know that I am going on a bit, and to anyone getting bored you should not be reading this. To put the record straight. I am me. I always have been me, I always will be me. I have supported Leeds for 40+ years, I am now 55. I am a Gold Member and have been a season ticket holder for most of those 40+ years. I have stood in practically the same spot on the Western terrace for all those years, in rain, snow, hail, fog and blizzards and the freezing cold (not tucked up in the Southstand). I also sponsor Southstander and I have a single digit number this year. There are a lot of my friends who are devout Leeds supporters who will have nothing to do with this web sites message board because of the caustic comments by some of your posters. So I say to you -on behalf of the ordinary Leeds supporter, like me, who is not a serial poster on this message board and who may from time to time feel like posting something, however worthless or pointless it may be, that they may think will be of interest to the ordinary Leeds supporter, like me - try to be more inclusive. We are after all supposed to be one big family. AREN'T WE??
