Extremely random, but having seen some of Damos pointless threads, I thought that it can't be that bad.

So as a little kid, What were your favourite songs.

from top off my head I liked:

Big ship sails on the Ally Ally O
What do you do with a drunken Sailor


I'm actually suprised my career path did not take the route of a journey on the North Sea, so everyone, which songs did you all sing and listen to as a little kid.

We do have a music thread.

But whilst on the topic my favourite song as a young one was Eiffel 65 Blue (Da Ba Dee). I think it would have been better if you named this the nostalgia thread so we could talk about favourites bibs we had as a young us as well.

I think mine was Thomas the Tank Engine..

I remember in Music lessons at school we used to sing 'Little Boxes' (it's used as the theme tune to Smoking MILF show 'Weeds', kids). For some reason, when we got to the part 'There's a red one and a blue one and a green one and a yellow one', the last three words had to be screamed at the top of your voice. I have no idea why we did that.

I used to absolutely love singing Jupiter Rock at primary school. I think the teacher wrote it because I've never come across it before in my life. Man that song rocked. It Jupiter rocked!

And I loved and still do love the Bugsy Malone, Oliver! & Labyrinth soundtracks. Had them on CD for yeeeeeears!

Done...as I was only thinking yesterday in the days that you turned the Tv on Saturday afternoon and how Grandstand was on for hours.

The days when you used to put Wireless on to listen to footy results coming in, and you used to watch any Sport on Grand Stand whatever it was for hours and hours week in week out, preferably been the Silk Cut challenge cup to ............

You then used to get a takeaway and wait for Match of the day to come on, watching the likes of Ravenilli, Juninho and wanchope, and Leeds United were on week in week out.

Nostalga eh.



I'm now waiting for someone to talk about the past where hardly anyone was around.

At primary school it was all the usual stuff like ring a ring o rose's.
At playtime we used to go round in a line shouting thing's like "anybody plaing at "football,army,hide n seek etc.
Did anyone else do "spuds" to decide who was "it" at tig or first to search at hide n seek??
As for music my first single's were remember your a womble and kung fu fighting!!
Toy's i had the batman and robin motorbike and sidecar,the starsky and hutch gran torino with plastic figure's,the kojak car and action man stuff!!
P.s Sweets were great then a 10p bag was full of goodies,star bars,texan bar's and torpedoes!!
Plus fruit salad,pacers and black jacks.

I still do that regularly. Used to love having my mate sleep over on a Saturday night and make a cuppa tea and have biscuits then watch and play Match t'Day. Still play it with our kid when we don't know the results already.

I once tried to swap an Action-Man for a Power Ranger. It was a long shot. It didn't come off. I did get a boss Pokemon card for an Action-Man though. Sweeeeeeet.
