On the contrary Mr Chairman, as long as a member is blind drunk and wearing a club blazer and tie, then I see nothing wrong with that club member standing on a table and leading a chorus and several verses of "Eskimo Nell", finishing with the ceremonial dropping of his trousers, extra points if he then falls off the table and/or spills his beer over everyone within range.

Nah then young Field.
The Hon. Secretary reliably informs me this here event at Batley Variety club tonight is some karaoke style singing thing, wi dancing and everything else. It is still of concern that there is a possibility that some of our members may be taking part in this here event, including some lads from the youth section of the union. I mean, prop forwards on a stage. Singing, dancing. What is the bloody world coming to?
What you were suggesting is completely different, something like that has died out in't professional game coz of all these fancy fangled foreign coaching methods. I believe though tis still practiced in't amateur game.

I took the good lady wife there to see Showaddywaddy there for a birthday treat. I had to receive a note of consent from t'union to do it. I just sat at table all night and supped. It were actually a grand night.

Enjoyed the night, Stevo and his "youll never walk alone" was comical. Ali and Kylie were by far the most entertaining act of the night, but Robbie deserved the win with Michael Jackson songs.
All in all I think it was a good night and I am glad that I attended this.
BTW Keesha, the Rhinos fan singer, will IMO be a great singer when she is older, as Amy Burrow said herself, and should put in for BGT or X-Factor.
