Supply and demand, market forces, call it what you will. When you have a few thousand Northerners turning up demanding several gallons of lager, you'd be an idiot as a local bar owner not to take advantage of that.
France has a far different culture towards drinking than we have in the UK and, in a city centre bar, those prices are fairly normal as the French tend not to go on ale-fuelled weekenders.
