If we avoid the injury run like we suffered last season we will challenge i've no doubts at all.
Yes the older guys are 1 more season down the line but with the avoidence of big injuries we will have the chance to rotate alot more than last year.
Of course starting without JP and Mags is a massive blow but we do have a full pre-season to gel a good HB pairing and get the pack used to sharing the JP work-load.
Other teams have strenghtend but we can still match them with our squad imo other teams know exactly how Wigan operate and will be that bit wiser the same with Wire yet ourselves and Saints are somewhat "unknown" quantities now with new coaching in place.
The bookies wrote us off in 04 after the qualifier blip against the Bulls and have listed Saints as favourites for years and got it very wrong so i'll take their odds with a pinch of salt.
I'm more than happy to written off because it'll be all the more sweeter when we prove so many wrong.

In my opinion, I think we will go very well, yes we have a couple of strike players out but have added a couple to an already good squad. Injuries as last year will probably dictate who finishes where and who's to say other teams imports will not suffer the same as ours did. To write the team off using age is non sense other teams players are also older and like us the youngsters are also that year more advanced. Points are always hard to come by and no one will be a push over, but is that not the same for all teams to contend with.

Such optimism.

Only the most blinkered would state we have the best backs...without McGuire ( who might yet suffer losing the edge to his pace ) we have an offensive liability centre playing alongside a defensive liability counterpart, a stand-in-stand-off, a gutsy but questionable scrum half and two wing-it-wingers with retarded speed.

Definitely worth a £10 punt but the Bulls at 25/1 might even be worth a £5 (but don't tell Gledhill)

its very unlikely leeds will have as much bad luck with injuries next season as they had last plus its unlikely wigan will be so lucky in the same respect
i expect leeds to struggle early season as players gel and to finish 4th-6th but in the play offs their experience could get them to another grand final
