When his contract is up, he should be the subject of several scientific experiments to discover how he manages to still be going this strong at his age, it's quite simply amazing!

Good signing BTW. That's two more years service from a player who routinely gets away with incorrect PTB's without ever being penalised for it, even during those rare periods when referees temporarily crack down on the illegal practice.

I don't mind this. He still has a lot to offer and his work rate is still up there with the best. One lad I wouldn't mind seeing brought in though is Craig Kopczak. As far as I'm concerned this lad is one of the best in SL and in his mid 20s has plenty to offer for a long time.

Anyways a great signing and suring up a quality player. he may need a bit more time out but his work rate and ethic is fantastic. Also we can use him to bring the best out of the lieks of Singleton et al. I do suspect the terms will be reduced somewhat though as per previous contracts for older players

I find it a bit of a strange one. JP will be 35 this year, and despite being willing to run his blood to water, is simply not the prop he was 5 years ago.
If the new contract is an acknowledgment of the great service he has given to the club, and maybe some kind of indicator that there is a role for him at Headingley in a couple of years, then I'll happily applaud GH for his thinking.

But we really should be looking for much younger replacement for next season.

If managed correctly as i am sure he will be a big player for Leeds and his experience will help the youth coming through
