What will be our starting back row next season then? I think Martin played at 13 for PNG, maybe he'll start there, but then what does that do to Cam Smith, who I think has been really good this year.

You would expect starting second row to play the full eighty, so I expect Martin and Mellor to be competing for the starting spot alongside Bentley.

Mellor (if fully fit) Martin and Bentley at 13. Get Tet back at prop, Cam smith, Gannon, Donaldson Walters OConnor all just behind
Props Prior Oledski Tet Holroyd and one more. Still think we need one more Pacey winger

Happy with Martin getting a 1 year deal good for both parties he is a very strong goal kicker which everyone knows but I think we could see more from him in attack next year with Austin & Sezer in Halves we'll probably use our back rowers & centres a bit better in attack but we'll have too wait and see. Think a one year deal let's Martin try and play for a new deal if he was wanting too stay with us beyond 2022 it also let's the club see if they want too offer him anything else as well.Everyone knew Hurrell & Vuniyayawa were being moved on so we still have one OQ spot too play with hope we find a strong overseas prop for next season.

Genuine question, what is the difference between zane playing prop or 13? Does he not do the exact same role?

Quite a few on here seem to say that prior would make a better 13 than prop. But again, what about his role would change? It’s not like they’re ball playing loose forwards like cam smith is?

Again it’s a genuine question, might just be my ignorance on the matter!

The reality is that these days there is little difference between prop and 13. Now there are no scrums you'd be hard pushed to see the difference. Both are defined as middles, and involves tough carries and lots of defending. Different people bring different elements to this. Some are stringer in defense, others attack.. Some people like Smith, and back in the day Sinfield, Farrell sculthorpe etc could defend the middle and play like a half with the ball. They are.more of a rarity these days though

I’m not sure what our starting pack will look like next year other than Mik and Leeming.

Martin on 1 year makes sense.

Even with another new prop we have got to start playing Tetevano there. Makes no sense playing him at 13 which isn’t his best role and keep Smith on the bench when he should be starting there every week now.

Thats why i would keep the cap money free til mid season cos somebody usually comes available. Move Tetevano to prop and use Cam and even Bentley at 13. O'Connor and Donaldson can also be used as 13s if injuries happen.

I like Cam off the bench, he adds something but really now we need 80 mins from him, hes potentially an outstanding player.
