Told you, it's 'Severely Obese Boy' and I don't want to take anything away from Leigh, they played very well last night. My point was how the Sky muppets continually bleat on about Wigan's injury list but seem to ignore it when it's another team in the same predicament.
No problem my friend the Sky blokes for me keep going on about Wigans youngsters more , and I have to admit they are very talented , ive recently heard very good reports about Ellery Hanleys boy , being a very good prospect , maybe they are after him to?
Leigh deserve credit, I never thought it would be walkover ,you are a decent side. Also I think you have an intelligent coach. Probably just as well you have signed him up long term,it's good to see young british coaches making progress in the game. Instead of constantly looking to the Southern Hemisphere for inspiration . Finally top marks to your fans, came over in numbers and got behind the team. The future looks bright at Leigh , you have some young and enthusiastic players, good luck to you all.
Thaler was awful, really bad. The obstruction rule is a nonsense, its just awful. Why we, as a game, have chosen an interpretation of the obstruction rule which doesnt need there to actually be an obstruction is just idiotic.
We were worse. Appalling performance, if we play like that against Huddersfield they will put 40 or 50 points on us. Most SL sides would have absolutely pumped us. Our completion rates were terrible, basic simple errors, passing was appalling at times, the best use of Watkins is not throwing the ball at his feet.
We had no plan or structure, no build, tried to win it on every play. When we did manage to spread play either stopped with Sutcliffe throwing a dummy and being caught or Delany picking out a brick wall and running in to it.
The very few times we did put even a basic play on we cut through them pretty easily, but again failed to have any kind of second phase whatsoever to finish it. This is a big failing in the squad, we have only Hardaker with pace in the middle (Burrow is taken out of that part of the game playing at dummy half) and he just isnt all that great at the moment from putting himself in those positions. Watkins gets his hand free, or his nose through the line pretty much everytime he hold on to the ball, but he has no-one back on the inside.
The lack of pace (of thought or foot) in the middle of this Leeds side is a gaping deficiency. The props are about as mobile as human statues, none of the half backs can beat a man with pace or footwork, so there's zero threat. Sides can just slide out and load up defensively where the actual threats are, in the centres.
Unless Sutcliffe actually learns to pass a ball, he's not going to make a SL half back. The number of times the ball was prevented from getting to Watkins or Moon by his dummies that nobody bought was ridiculous.
At the moment, the Leeds three-quarter line must feel like an ashtray on a motorbike. There's little point having them, if the ball is constantly going to be turned back inside.
Time for McDermott to move on at the end of the season IMO. The structure has become too predictable, certain players have become too comfortable and a new voice is needed to come in and completely rebuild the spine of the side.

Thank you very much appreciated Leigh gave their all last night , but were just a little inexperienced in some departments . as for our fans , we follow most away games in numbers .
Full credit to Leigh. If they keep playing like that their next defeat will be a while coming. Great energy, but their patterns in attack were very easy on the eye too.
Leeds look a bit flat at the moment, which I'm not unduly worried by at this stage. I did ponder a few times whether our lack of penetration in the middle of the line might be alleviated by playing Moon at 6 for a few games to liven things up.
Regardless of which team you fielded, all your players are full time versus our part time boys, most of which had done a full day's work before heading over to Leeds. You should have easily beat us by at least 40 points with your superstar players (our whole team's wages probably isn't as much as Peacock's).
The score flattered Leeds, and to say otherwise is downright disrespectful. What a patronising t0sser you are - why would you want to keep a team like Leigh in the Championship? You are everything I hate about SL supporters who think they have a God given right to be in SL. You might have had an easy ride for the last few years with no P & R, but us lowly Championship teams are fighting to earn the right to join you.
Get your head out of you @rs3 mate. You have completely and utterly misread what I put. Having chips on shoulders is no good.
I praised the Leigh team, it's hunger and enthusiasm. I simply said to say you didn't deserve to lose was a complete myth. You never looked like scoring after your second try. You need points to win.
I never said to keep Leigh in Championship dipstick. If you read it I compared your achievements with recent seasons of Fev (whom actually beat super league side), Halifax, and Sheffield, and said if they were all that good at the same time it would be a good a Championship.
You sound more like a Wakey fan than anything else, with the everyone against us attitude.
As for individuals: as others have said Kirke and Bailey should be taking more responsibility from our 2 old warhorses - if they are apparently unable to why deprive some younger lads from the step up? Look no further than Wigan for endorsement.
Said previously our forwards are poor and our halves are even worse. Not sure what has happened to Briscoe and Watkins lately but neither look that good. Both JP and Kylie should along with Sinfield have been rested. Thank god we didn't as Leigh would have beaten us. Whilst the youngsters may have offered the enthusiasm I doubt their experience or lack of it would have seen us home. That for me is a sad reflection on how we are playing with no structure or pace whatsoever. Once Zac cops a ban we will be left with no innovation in that team at all. Robbie Ward and Stevie Ward played well as did Hardaker and JP. Would go as far as saying we are probably the 6th best team in SL at present. Plenty of improvement needed. For me Leigh looked the best team for an hour and once again some enthusiastic forwards stuck it to us last night and put us off our game. Well done Leigh and looking forward to seeing you in SL next year.
