I thought the rumour was he was going to Leigh... I'd be for it though. Would we get academy dispensation for him?

Yep, agree, he'd fit in well back at Leeds. Depends on his salary demands i suppose and what we could offer.

Olpherts released by Cas, with Peter Smith linking him to Leeds in the YEP. I'd say it's happening. Also a piece about Ruan training with Leeds in there.

Cas released a statement listing players who they have “released” ie been poached by bigger clubs, have Truman Olpherts been “released”

So Sangare and McDonnell known to be coming. Olpherts, Hooley and Ruan rumoured to be coming also.
Where else are we likely to add? Centre seems a must, plus we still look light another prop, depending on Prior’s future.
Would Gildart/McDonald, and possibly Mulhern round out the squad quite well?
Good mix of first team ready players, plus some with potential also.

Centres - Newman, Gildart/McDonald, plus Hardaker (assuming we do the deal there, hopefully we do).
Props - Oledzki, Tetevano, Sangare, Holroyd, Prior/Mulhern… is five enough? Do feel like we got overran at times against Giants, that bit of dog kept us in it long enough to grab the win, but they seemed to find it easier to make metres.

Pretty sure Mulhern is bound for Leigh. Also the lad from Wakefield has signed for KR.

100% no.
Holroyd has played 14 games in 4 years. We can't rely on his fitness.
And Walters is still a project and a couple of years away from being a potential rotation prop.
Said it many times, but we have had at leat 2 props sidelined all year.
And one of our back ups, Thompson, is leaving.
We are still one short in the squad.

I think we’re one extra prop short.

Say it quietly but I think Tetevano has turned a corner the last couple of games. The gambles are prior and that edge of the cliff, and holroyds fitness.

By my reckoning we could do with about a 20% increase in our go forward and a similar reduction in our go backward. If fans expect Sangare to do that on his own he's in for a rough ride..

That said, I'd be interested in Rohan's take on the importance of a dominant pack. I've heard him criticise and praise our attack, same with our goal line defence. But he seems to say little about metres made or conceded which seems odd, given we've seemingly struggled on both counts at times. I'm curious whether his non mention of these areas stems from it simply being an area which he feels he can do little about given the players he has, or whether he's simply not wedded to the orthodoxy of a strong pack being essential to success..
