Martin and King out, Hurrell to get another 2 years for me. Reduced terms for Hurrell, but will still need to be one of biggest earners, or he’ll go to Wigan or Saints.....

If Vuniyayawa leaves then we need at least one more prop preferably two.

not sure martin is playing well. kicking goals for fun but that's about it

I agree Tad. And with our 2022 squad containing Gale, Sezer and Austin who could all kick goals, Martin hasn't done enough for a new deal.

I'd let both Martin and Hurrell leave. Think everyone is now well aware of my thoughtson Hurrell!

Martin was looking very good before he got COVID.

Another thing with the overseas boys in particular is how hard it can be isolating in a new country, and being apart from social networks.

Don’t get me wrong Martin is solid rather than spectacular, but we should judge players in light of the current context. COVID has hit several squad members hard and some have been struggling with aerobic capacity afterwards.

better players in the championship and he takes an overseas spot

Hard to be critical of the club.He was only signed as a 1 year deal,to see what he had to offer. So far in the limited time on the park due to covid he's had some good go foward and multiple concussions. Not sure I would keep him currently.

You are probably correct but this shouldn't have any barring on whether we retain Martin. We have to look at the squad to see whether he is good enough and whether he is needed.
I think we all would mainly agree he's good enough.
His he needed well this isn't as cut and dry. The signing of Bentley plus 4 other second rowers we have plenty of cover. We would I feel be wasting cap space if we retained Martin as our priorities should be a prop signing.

Yes and it depends what size of contract he’s on of course.

I’m concerned we are able to provide pathways for our young talent, and that we are financially able to pay them a fair rate too.

Whisper it but one or two of our juniors are going to attract NRL interest at some point.

Our OS players need to be in the Webb, Donald. Leuluai, Buderus mould rather than the Achurch going forward.

I agree about the path way.Next season Gannon and Walters need more game time.

Agree. Tetevano is one also struggling to get fitness back after having Covid. He said he never usually gets ill and if he does he's always trained it off but covid hit him like a train. Put him on his back for nearly 3 weeks, came very close to hospital also. And this is a guy who is hard as nails and as fit as they come for a pro RL player. He'll get there but will take time.

Agree completely. I think some underestimate how hard it is to get back to your pre covid output after it has hit you like a train. Yes they're athletes, but human nonetheless.

Which makes the decision to leave him on the field, and leave King on the bench, when he was out on his feet with his hands on his knees against Wire, even more unbelievable!!
Really poor player management that was.
