I just wonder whether we are 2-3 too many injuries accrued in the squad now to be competitive even if we do make the play-offs.

Even a couple of returning players are unlikely to come straight in 100% on form too, when we need it most.

All season we've been making field position for fun, but that seemed to change against Wakey and that compressed our halves and back line too much given our absentees there.

We just seemed really low on energy on Monday even the try celebrations seemed very muted, contrast that with against Wigan and there was a big difference.

The constant changes make it all feel week to week as opposed to building up for the sharp end. Suspect the serious contenders will begin to up their games from about now

Having flat performances is inevitable - you can get them even with a nice weekly format, never mind the crazy season we've had. Stinker or stonker against Hull - anyone's guess.

It is very difficult to see the side we have limping into the back end of the season troubling Cats or Saints.

For me the Wakey result reinforced our calls for another first grade prop. Without Mik, having Tommy still quite injury prone and then Prior out of form, Tet with discipline problems, Thompson just not good enough at prop, and King on the way out... we couldn't create a platform against at best a mid-table opposition.

We don't really have anyone ready to come in from Academy at prop and so I think we need someone good up front. It gives us more options on rotation, more options at loose forward, and more resiliency for injury so it's a "no-brainer" for me if we can find the right player.

We pretty much have the halves fixed up for next year in theory but I actually think Austin's form will be important for us.

Reasonably happy with the side otherwise for 2022. A really good pre-season is so important for us, with a young side and an obvious need to get some field work in from the coaching staff.

I'd like to see us run with Newman at 3 and Broadbent at 4 for a few games. Not ideal for Jack on that left edge missing the first choice 11 and 7 but it is what it is.

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Agree. Given the contrast a few days before at Wigan I wondered if there had been some trouble at mill, whatever we were subdued from the off.

Team put a big effort in at Wigan hard to back that up a few days later. That said we shouldve done better at Wakey

We should though in mitigation a few of our young players, not to mention a couple of our older ones, must be utterly drained. Back in the day, when we used to moan about the easter fixtures, it was common to see that big performance on the thurs/friday against top table opposition only to back up with a feeble show on the monday against a side we'd otherwise have taken apart. Well, every week is pretty much like that now. In that light it's maybe surprising our recent run of better form lasted as long as it did.

The players are knackered, the coaches have little opportunity to work with them, and form is quite fickle.

Physically, how you get through three SL games in 7 days or so.. I would literally die.

This.

I think people have expectations that are too high in the current climate. I've got a mate who's played NRL amd SL and he said the recovery for 1 game a week is vital. It's crazy what the players are being put through now.

I thought over the games with Leeds this season we have been unlucky not take every game but as Leeds are a mid table team at best Luke us I suppose they go either way
