What we need right now is someone who's going to get us out of a relegation battle.
JJB might get a reaction and get some points on the board to do that.
But he's obviously not the long term answer - surely GH sees that.
We need to take our time to appoint someone to get the club back in the top 4 and challenging for trophies.
That's not JJB.
I'm convinced he wants Carr.
I think he's seen something in him that he really likes.

On the back of being in squad with a number of exceptional once-in-a-generation players: Sinfield, McGuire, Senior, Burrow, Ali etc.

Perhaps a 22 year old might look at JJB and think - you were fortunate to have the success you had. It isn't Danny McGuire or Kevin Sinfield stood up talking.

If that 22 year old did think that then they’ve got a terrible attitude.

JJB himself would be the first to say he was fortunate to play alongside those players, but it doesn’t automatically make his part in that side redundant or just luck does it.

The way some of our fans are disparaging to some of our players and ex players is strange.

I wish him well, but he was part of some dreadful teams post 2017, and there wasn't much evidence that his leadership had any impact as a player.

I found his presser overlong and full of waffle. But he can waffle till the cows come home if we get a few wins on the board. Don't think for a minute that he is a credible candidate for the job and I'd be stunned if GH did. As a player he played a part in a magnificent era for the club. Whether he was a great player, or not, is neither here nor there.

So he had a super successful career, then for his last two season’s in part of poor teams you expect him to carry or motivate that poor team to sucess?

Either way that is a totally different situation thatn what he finds himself in now.

He might be terrible as interim coach but it seems some want to write him off before hes had a go.

Everyone wanted Agar gone, but it was obvious that it would be JJB or Long who took over in the interim, not sure what people were expecting TBH.

Let’s see what happens

This pretty much sums it up for me, theres a debate about how motivational people find JJB, but thats just each to there own, for me his waffle is way too much, but its not me that needs motivating, hopfully it works for the players and we get a few performances out of them.

As chris says, it was always going to be JJB as interim so hopfully he has a positive impact until our new, long term coach is hired

Perhaps because they were both at the Super league Coaches meeting.

What is needed here isn't harder work on the training field its smarter work on the field. JJB ethic is all about hard work and commitment not quality and skill level. The former will not deliver the latter. Most 22 year olds with a modicum of intellect can see that. Leeds are losing games because they play dumb rugby - JJB has been an integral part of the preparation of the players who have delivered that dumb rugby.
