Thought that was a good game (from what i could see as i watching it on iplayer on my phone in Porto)

Newman has to pass that one, he was lucky to get away with it n the first half.

Im amazed at some of the bile people post on Social Media!

He's come up with some errors today no doubt but was also the most effective outside back and sicks his neck out to get involved. You know who didn't bomb a try scoring opportunity today, Macdonald, Olpherts and Tindall because they made no impression on the game at all. (I'll stop short of calling any of them wnkers though)

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Re: CC Wigan at Home : Sat May 20, 2023 3:55 pm
I think we can all remember what Olpherts most telling contribution was. He is exactly the player I thought he would be for us and is a waste of a shirt.

That game for me was Sezer in a microcosm. First half his fingerprints were all over everything. Second half when we need him to step up he goes missing.

Olpherts did have an impact, unfortunately it was a negative one. That dropped ball gave them hope, much like the intercept gave us hope last week.

We got what we deserved, fook all.

Lots of individual errors that cost is again and again.

No leadership, no consistency and no result.
Shame, the first half was the best we have had this season I think especially in defence and pressure.

Second half, less said the better. The missing players hurt abit but christ, same things are still an issue,we just flipped which half this week

Actually enjoyed the game and occasion despite the result but very disappointed in that second half - errors again.

Everyone pointing to the second half but I thought there were some worrying signs in the first where we conceded some line breaks off missed tackles and rode our luck with wigan just coming up short.

Re: CC Wigan at Home : Sat May 20, 2023 4:20 pm
The 2nd half was poor, to concede a try from the kick off was rubbish and the slow start we have all feared happened.

When Wigan got back to 14 all, we were hardily in their 20 and smacked off cup game get a point if you can.

Sadly we got tackled into touch and then the next set was hand over ? We then went to 18 to 14 down instead of 15 to 14 up.

There is a total lack of leadership and organisation.

I fail to see what tactics Smith is employing, he needs this season and 12 games next to see what if anything he offers as a coach.
