Whilst from a hard headed, solely business POV the decision was poor in hindsight, I think when it comes to metal health and "doing the right thing" we came up trumps for the bloke.

Yes we aren't a charity but its good to see a club stand behind its players in very dark times and do the hard yards rather than the easy and on this occasion we have been unlucky that he hasn't responded to the injuries as quick as we would've hoped.


I would've thought and correct me if needed, with him not turning out for us for so long we must surely have some kind of dispensation going on?

In relation to Crosby particularly, I'm proud of the club for walking the talk on supporting our players and staff, it's one of the things that "buys" us the loyalty around salary reductions etc. Our emotional intelligence as a club has improved since KS returned, and I think this is one of the things he saw was missing when he made the "rotten" comments.

Ablett was a favour to a mate who has been a key cog in so much of our success, and I've got no issues with that either. We have underpaid our players in comparison to what they could have earned elsewhere, and things like the contract extension for Carl is payback for his loyalty and commitment.

Totally agree and that's why I can see Ward and Myler staying probably on smaller contracts though.

Who's whining? Just pointing iut the obvious ,Sinfield has done great wrt Sva Martin Prior Hurrell & Mellor.
Lets not forget though that we have had Crosby Thompson Ablett T.Briscoe renewals which are car crash decisions plus the Furner appointment then not backing him.
Those are facts not whining precious.

Hang on a minute he came on loan carrying an injury he got a 3yr contract with the same injury he hasnt played in 18mths? Thats a poor business decision the support stuff was always there for him at Wire & here.
With Ablett its ok if we give contracts to finished/retired players now?

Us & the Giants have confirmed we wont be pursuing any TWP players where that leaves those 2 who knows.

They aren't TWP players not until their 'contract' starts they are still Rhinos players.
