Having flat performances is inevitable - you can get them even with a nice weekly format, never mind the crazy season we've had. Stinker or stonker against Hull - anyone's guess.
It is very difficult to see the side we have limping into the back end of the season troubling Cats or Saints.
For me the Wakey result reinforced our calls for another first grade prop. Without Mik, having Tommy still quite injury prone and then Prior out of form, Tet with discipline problems, Thompson just not good enough at prop, and King on the way out... we couldn't create a platform against at best a mid-table opposition.
We don't really have anyone ready to come in from Academy at prop and so I think we need someone good up front. It gives us more options on rotation, more options at loose forward, and more resiliency for injury so it's a "no-brainer" for me if we can find the right player.
We pretty much have the halves fixed up for next year in theory but I actually think Austin's form will be important for us.
Reasonably happy with the side otherwise for 2022. A really good pre-season is so important for us, with a young side and an obvious need to get some field work in from the coaching staff.
I'd like to see us run with Newman at 3 and Broadbent at 4 for a few games. Not ideal for Jack on that left edge missing the first choice 11 and 7 but it is what it is.

I thought over the games with Leeds this season we have been unlucky not take every game but as Leeds are a mid table team at best Luke us I suppose they go either way
