Attendance 7,396... Shocking for such a key game.

Why was the attendance so low? You could hear our fans over theirs. Albeit cheering for a drop goal attempt that missed.

That was another example of just how poor we are at drop goals wasn't it? Absolutely right in front and not very far out at all. I know he was under pressure but amazes me that we're so poor at executing them. Glad it didn't go to golden point last night

I will have you know that was going straight thru the middle til a last second gust of wind took it wide. Yeah ok maybe not.

Wigan support was very poor last night. They will be back but they seem on a downer at the moment. Leeds fans loud for 80 mins tho it took a while before the Wigan get battered ditti got an airing.

Attendances in play off games have been dissapointing since their inception back in 98, although Leeds have bucked the trend more than most. I'd like to see clubs find a way to include season ticket holders, which I don't doubt would be hard, but not beyond the wit of man. Got to be better than looking at acres of empty seats for high profile games.

I can see your point of view mate. In terms of Leeds, this is a really good season and positive step forwards for us though, and we have much more to look forward to in the future with this young team I'm sure.

We haven't had a settled half back combination all year, and we have several key players half-fit. Wouldn't be surprised to see the usual off-season surgery rush...

For morale and the experience for the young lads, it is about progression in the comp this time of year. We won't be able to play as conservatively/poorly as that and win the title (I hope), so we'll see. Think Wigan kind of drag you down into their attritional style.

The wider game, yes of course it is a concern but there have been some great games (magic comes to mind) and you know if the hard core fans keep focusing only on the problems, what chance do new/potential fans/sponsors have? There are lots of positives too, it's more a choice of what you want to look at.

Jimbo, Seth moaned about the team selection before the game, moaned at the tactics during the game and then moaned at the performance after the game. Then says its cos he cares about the sport more than others do. Go figure.

The future is bright. Double nilling in Wigan, never thought i would see that happen. Young guns played a massive part, great for their development and confidence.

Proud of this group. Real proud.

I thought Holroyd was excellent when he came and made a big difference, I think he is the most exciting prospect at the club - Newman again was very good. Lui my MOM - made a huge defensive effort as well as controlling the game. Tetevano and Oldeski made big contributions too Thankfully Thompson's involvement was limited.

Huge effort - this team has more chance of beating Catalans than Saints and I think Warrington are the only side that can possibly beat Saints in the GF.

You're right Marty, Bodene Thompson played well worth a start (give him another 3 years) last night, the standard of play was good with few errors and worthy of a semi final place. Do you wilfully just ignore what people actually say so that you can just be sanctimonious. Thompson was poor and the performance was without quality, what about those statements is incorrect? (I didn't mention tactics)

It doesn't bother you that the majority of the teams in the comp offer poor opposition and so many who love the game are falling out with it because its becoming worse to watch with low fundamental skill levels. Leaving the undoubted effort aside Marty, was it a good game from a fundamental skill perspective?

Live a little Sethster. Cheer up lad. Look on the bright side we might lose next week and give you the opportunity to tell the world you told us so eh?

And even if we win theres another chance the week after.

Mr Positive.

Hey I'm pretty positive Marty, I'm sure you owe me a pint if we win the GF this year!

There was a point early in the second half where big Mik took the first hit-up out of yardage, got smashed but made good ground. Next up was Holroyd, again toiling through Wigan's pretty tough D. We're 30 metres out with carries from a 22 year old and 20 year old prop, and I thought "this is it".

Give is 2 more years and we'll be 40 metres out instead with broken opposition players littering the floor.

I'll say it again but I've never been as excited about a group of young players at Leeds as I am now. Are we playing great rugby? No not really. But we are showing the kind of foundation grit and spirit that made the club so successful in the past. Once these lads have some more physical presence and experience under their belts, we are going to be very good indeed. Smith is still only 22 and was close to our MoM again last night.

We need to remember that the Goldens didn't pop out of a microwave overnight. They took years, literally, to develop and mature and we had plenty of disappointments and poor performances along the way. If anything this group is ahead of where they were. In fact our biggest challenge will be keeping the NRL clubs away from these lads.
