As above, in Fantasy Rugby, where reality isn't such an annoying intrusion, I'd definitely sign Greg Inglis. I think he would meet most of my criteria as an import of "the right quality" without too much trouble.
Staying British, I'd still take Shenton for the right price. Again, in reality, he's not going to be available at any sensible price and I think there's very little out there that is sufficiently better than what we've got to be worth forking out for. I think we have players with real potential around the place, and I think perhaps now is the time to be bringing them on. Watkins is still very raw, but only game time will change that. Plenty of time for that between now and October. Ditto Gibson, who is still playing his way back to form and fitness. Another process which only playing matches is going to accomplish.
Waving the chequebook is easy, finding something to wave it at is the challenge.
Given the Eastwood situation affecting plans, I wouldn't say no to another forward, again, providing the right one is available. Is Gorden Tallis playing for anyone at the moment?
