don't get me wrong, its better than a lot of clubs will take, but celebrating the fact of taking such small numbers IMO is not an acheivement!

Approximately 20% of this year's average home gate appear to be making the trip to Murrayfield. If that percentage is typical across all 14 clubs the overall attendance will not surpass 30K on either day. Can we continue to support a concept that is failing to capture the supporters' interest. Let's make this the third and final Magic Weekend.

Why should we make this the last one? Even if 30000 turn up its still taking the game to different areas.

Maybe those people complaining about it should go to one of the weekends before complaining as I have been to the first two and will be there again on Saturday. I think its a great weekend

indeed this is about taking current fans to other places..........oh wait, no, its actually about getting other towns (new fans) interested in rugby league

i'm sure the crowd will be greater then 30k anyway, but even if it was (or even lower) the RFL will be happy as long as some of the crowd is made up of locals/possible new fans/etc, and that the game doesn't loose money. [irrc haven't edinburgh paid the rfl to host the games, so it should be quite hard to make a loss]

So you think the RFL should renege on a signed contract and pay whatever penalties are attached then?

The WRU reportedly paid 500K to host the event in 2007. Not sure I've seen any figures mentioned since but anything close to that again is money the game shouldn't be turning away.

Why wonder as it's not a cup final. It's a repeat of a league game we last saw five rounds ago. Hardly comparable?

How many Scottish RL fans and potential Scottish RL fans get the opportunity to see a SL game played in the north of England, Wales, London or the south of France?

i know of a number of coaches who see the weekend as more of an inconvenience than the easter weekend!

another interesting one is that the RFL makes no profit, the clubs keep the money they get from sales and the money from the RFL sales is split between the 14 teams. The money that Edinborough pays must cover the RFL costs!
