I like Smith but I understand why he's not cemented the 13 jersey just yet. For one thing, he's more prone to switching-off defensively and brain-farts than some of our other spine players (e.g. dying in possession on the last tackle), even though his general work-rate is excellent. IMO we just need more consistency from him.
I'm not a huge fan of Tetevano based on his performances and major discipline problems this season. Some posters on here are massively biased towards him because he's a 'hard man'. If the younger forwards like Gannon, Oledski and Holroyd can avoid picking up cards and bans then so should Tetevano (and Pryor for that matter). Players like JJB and Bailey used to be crucified on here for the number of penalties they gave away but Tetevano has simply been a liability this season, given his much hyped role (pre-season) as some kind of pack leader. Be nice to see Tetevano have a solid run of games, keeping his nose clean, having a more positive impact on the game (as well as playing more minutes - perhaps a post-COVID issue as with Martin?) - I guess we have to wait for next season for this.
