I see the French government has said that only fully vaccinated people will be allowed into sporting venues. The Wakefield CEO is worried because he has 6 out of 33 unvaccinated squad members. He's said a couple more might decide to get vaccinated if it means missing games but others won't. What's also clear is that he isn't putting any pressure on, yet claims its somehow unfair because the rules might change later. Well, you reap what you sow. If you're not going to pressure players to do their utmost to be available to fulfil their duties as employees, you cannot complain if they are then not available.
This sort of attitude probably explains the low uptake at some clubs and why it is absolutely necessary for the RFL to step in as they did and rule out cancelling games due to COVID.
As far as I'm aware we're going to have the possibility of relegation this year. I wonder if the CEO will still be saying that "I've got to respect their personal choice" if Wakey are staring down the barrel of relegation?
