Too much size and power in that wakey team today. Told in the end. Antoni looks a big unit for Wakey!!!

Thought he would have been in that squad or does Smith not rate him?

You have to wonder at the journalists. One asked about how many games Sinfield may play in 2023 but did not ask why he was not involved on Boxing Day. Also where is Corey Johnson?

You’d have to assume that both not rated by the coach. We can’t argue really…….
Groin injury and illness was the reason Sinfield wasn't selected.Smith said he wasn't prepared to throw him into a game like that having missed 10 days of training.

Me personally really enjoyed that game thinks it's first time I've walked away from a game we've lost and been smiling. It's a friendly that's all it is for both us and wakey and good to give both set's of players game time. I was impressed with how well our players attacked with so many not in their favorable positions as well. Ruan & Sangare we're very impressive out of our new boys who were on show. Leeming looked lively out of dummy half and Gannon put in a great shift in. Tindall finished his try brilliantly. Our young boys look very handy as well. Rohan is building a great team I'm very optimistic what our team can do with him in charge.

Holroyd looked rusty as most of players did but he will especially since he's played like 4 games in the past 12 months. Walters was steady didn't really stand out imo though. Edwards had some ok touches.

Glad to see Smith push more minutes out of Sangare, he had some good moments. Some good involvements from the young players simpson looked strong. Considering the clear difference in make up of the 2 sides it was a good runout.

That’s more reassuring then. But Johnson? Surely a concern to it mate the squad with all those out…..

I may be a million miles off the point here.. so feel free to shoot me down!

...But why is a lot of our better players are knackered/injured before we've even played a game? illness aside that is... Do we have to train as intense / frequently only for it to affect us come game day? A few key injuries in training could (and probably will) cost us in the super league. Its bad enough we risk injury during the game never mind in intense training.... Not a moan, just an observation that's all. I know players need to be tested in training, but tested AS much as they are?

Smith said everyone who was fit played so by that you would think Johnson has an injury or could even be illness.
