Shane Flanagan anybody if he would take it,although sounds keen to stay in the NRL.
Probably even tougher on the players than Furner so would upset the comfort zone and could prove another disaster.
Would we want someone with a tainted history in the sport as well.
The assistant coach at Penrith is getting good reports and appears to be wanted by Wayne Bennett as his assistant at the new NRL club the Dolphins.
Sounds like he could turn out to be another Justin Holbrook, but again would he be tempted.

There would be some initial pain with Flanagan I think but the benefits would come given 2 years. Let’s be honest it can’t be much worse with or without the ball.
We been pretty poor since the GF win in 2015.
Furner was in charge for 11 games. He won 4 of his last 7 games and took over a team that finished losing 2 games out of 7 in the 2018 scrubbers scramble.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying he was a stunning success but he had naff all to work with. Crosby and Ablett played no games all year, JJB was awful. Ferres was too and Stevie Ward played 5 games all year plus Cuthbo was on last legs. He had Peteru and singo with Merrin.
Board / Dor would need to properly back Flanagan to go through the pain and come out the other side.
I should add I can’t see Flanagan coming. We are not advertising for a cleaner at a council leisure centre. We should be identifying who we want and going after them.
Any Aussie would need a lot of reassurance to come now because I’m sure they would talk to Furner....
