Unfortunately there is an element of realism, when you look at the results since 2017! We can’t look at things like we used to……not yet…..
This becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, with every step down, standards are allowed to fall lower and then there’s another step down. I don’t see Saints accepting a relaxation of standards, we’ve done it most years for about the last 8.
I’m confident that RS can stop the rot, but GH will have to back him every step of the way, with youth, experienced players, and back room appointments. Once we get back to an acceptable standard, GH needs to hand over to someone with fresh energy and ideas.
Look i am happy to give the guy a chance , but signings are poor , we have now by the look of it decided we are not going to run from dummy half . Our half backs are just not good enough in any shape or form and there is no on field leadership and to be fair most of the team lack discipline and football brains . How Walters does not make the seventeen is beyond me .
Actually our middle held up okay: Holroyd. Sangare were solid and Tet at least aggressive and direct. Cam Smith was good again.
I am not convinced on Lisone yet but he may need more time.
If I’m being honest I would be fairly happy to lose Myler, Olpherts, Fusitu’a, Austin, maybe Sezer, Tet, Lisone, Bentley from the squad in addition to Leeming.
You can add three cracking first grade players maybe FB, SO and possibly a 9 or another prop depending on how the young lads step up.
If we can just stabilise the senior players with better quality I would lean into the youth system now. At least the pack is finally getting there.
Agree with most of that apart from the fact that Myler has been our best player the last 3 years
Don’t think that’s true. Apart from good goal kicking, not seen an awful lot from Martin since beginning last season. His defence has been woeful so far this year too….. Personally would not have renewed his contract….
That kind of agrees with my point, he's not been great at the start of this year and neither has the whole team!

Completely agree with that on a club perspective. However as a fan you can’t influence that, and if you gonna into every game expecting Leeds to win you’ll be angry and disappointed. We are just not at that level yet,’and very inconsistent…..

I don’t go into every game expecting us to win, I rarely go into any game expecting us to win. I think i I should be able to go into any game expecting us to compete.
Rhyse Martins comments in Leeds Live, stating we maybe went into the game with a bit of complacency are a real concern, if this squad think they are good enough to take anyone in S/L lightly then its going to be a long season.
Pretty shocking having that attitude considering how poor we've started the season ourselves.
Its gutting anytime we get beat, but Thursdays has been especially dissapointing for me, from team selection, to performance, to attitude, just a really frustrating effort all round.

Is really poor, agree. For some reason pre-season was not treasured seriously . The no captain thing and trick kicks offs etc are frankly amateur. Maybe we need to knuckle down to basics ++. We’ll get it right , but we can’t afford to start every season half way through……. Last year was a freak….

Why is the short kick off amateur? Used judiciously it can be very effective and we've won possession on a number of occasions this season as a result. As for captain, I'm still not sure. The man who would have been captain threw in the towel and wants to leave the club four weeks into the season. Hardly a ringing endorsement of his leadership skills. Who else do you want? A lot would have said Martin, but you've said you wouldn't have extended his contract, so clearly not him. We started with a few really wobbly performances, but seeds sown in pre-season don't necessarily flower in March.
