Correct. The good thing about defence is that it improves with strength, size, and experience. All things that come with time. However, the ability to pass a ball accurately and under pressure is a skill that is hard to get better at in the hurly burly of competitive RL. That's we should be patient with him, in my opinion.

Diskin 2004 before the bad injury was also rapid.

If Johnson can stay fit I would personally be happy running with him and O’Connor for next year from what I’ve seen. Leeming is a lovely guy but personally I find him frustrating at times. We need a first class passer from DH if we are going to play the fast expansive stuff.

Definitely his big chance, no excuses now if he is as good as his fanclub think he is, he will be first choice by end off year, if he can’t break into the side now he never will.

he did, and looked far too good for that level of opposition
i really hope he gets a chance this season, and can grasp it like some of the other young guns have done

For mine he was quick in 2003 and 2004 before bad injury when played test match v NZ, never as quick after that.

On Johnson he played like an old man at 17, in a good way. Good brain and good passing from PTB. However at top SL level the best hookers have either pace and threat or very strong defence or the very best like Roby do it all.

I don’t think Johnson has the asset of pace and jury is out on his defence. Had a lot of injuries, needs some time and hope he can go well. Will need bringing on gradually after so long out.

Will be make or brake then this year. Leeming did not look good and could be out for months. O’Connor is really impressive but will need spelling at times.’Johnson will be needed now which is a good thing imho. Roby is an absolute one off. The only other player who comes close is Daz Clarke and he has slowed down a lot with injuries and workload.
