But isn’t Lewis contracted until the end of 2025? One of the best young hb’s in super league, coming from a team who are looking upwards and trying to build something. It would need to be a ridiculous offer to get him, that assumes he would even want to come.
I think we firstly need to find out if sinfield is going to be what we think he could be. If we lock down a spine player with him then it makes looking at other spine positions a bit easier moving forward.
Depends how ambitious he is. HKR will do well to push for top 6, but never really any more than that. If he wants to win stuff, he needs to go to one of the big clubs - Saints, Wigan, Wire and no matter where we are now, you have to say Leeds as well.
Must admit, I'm not totally convinced by him yet. I'd prefer Abdul. He has much more of an effect on games.
I'm not on the Mikey Lewis hype train just yet. The guy seems to be quite injury prone and still hasn't produced a consistent run of form yet, it would be a big gamble to throw marquee money at him at the moment. Although, there's a real dearth of halves in the game at the moment, so any half decent halfback will probably cost more than he should.

He wouldn't command a marquee wage but it would take a hefty fee to land him.I doubt GH would be willing to pay a large fee fee in this current climate.I do like Abdul hes a player who has really kicked on these last few seasons.
NRL half backs off contract this season: Daniel Atkinson, Jake Bourke, Luke Brooks, Adam Clune, Jack Cogger, Tom Duffy, Kyle Flanagan, Dean Hawkins, Cody Hunter, Drew Hutchison, Cooper Johns, Shaun Johnson, Brad Schneider, Blake Taaffe, Brandon Wakeham.
Stand offs Matt Frawley, Ben Hampton, Kurt Mann, Josh Reynolds, Jaeman Salmon
Full backs Corey Allan, Declan Casey, Trai Fuller, Bailey Hodgson, Albert Hopoate, Terrell Kalo Kalo, William Kennedy, Daine Laurie, Moses Mbye, Will Smith, Taine Tuaupiki, Kaeo Weekes
Chances of us getting anyone from an NRL starting 21 are slim, we just cant offer the money needed to tempt them. Also it more or less takes away their chance of playing State of Origin or National teams, although not quite so much for the Pacific teams
I don't see Smith being too worried about NRL or Origin experience. He's seems to know just about everyone in the Aussie game and my hope would be that we could pick up a very talented player who is travelling just underneath the radar without going marquee.
The issue we could also have is that there's a dearth of playmakers in the NRL too, it's why mid half backs like Luke Brooks at Wests can request $1m a year. So any half decent half will get snapped up by another NRL club pretty quickly if they become available. Milford may be one to keep an eye on though, he seems out of favour at the Dolphins at the moment
From that last Will Kennedy stands out but he looks too good to come to SL.
I’ve a feeling Rohan may be looking at Newman playing FB in the future.
5 of starting 13 off contract Austin, Sezer, fusitua, Tetevano, Bentley.
Plus Walters, Donaldson, Tindall & Sinfield.
Interesting to see what happens. Those first 5 in particular are singing for their supper at present, so should go well in next few weeks, fingers crossed.
