Why do you think Rohan will be looking at playing Newman at fullback?

It seems to have been pretty common in Australia to move your best 3/4 to full back to give them more space, and get them on the ball more often. I wouldn't be surprised if Smith tried it with Newman

I think until Newman can get a prolonged run of games at centre, he will not be considered for full back. Much more running involved at full back and we are yet to be convinced that his legs are up to it.

Tom Burgess signed a new 1 year extension at South’s, until end of 2024. Given his previous comments, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s at Leeds in 2025

It is logical in that more and more teams are using their best athlete at full back, but as you say he would need to get convincingly past his injury problems and also really develop his footballing abilities. Maybe a couple of years down the track.

Since watching him from u13s I've thought I'd like to see him have a go at FB.

I agree he could be very good at it as he is one of the best runners in the league but as it stands, his body is not currently up to it.
