G1 - Maybe everyone should grow the f*ck up and realise people, all of us, have silly little prejudices and say things that perhaps we shouldn't be and that is just human nature. Zak has not, AFAIK, allowed any alleged prejudices to influence his actions to the detriment of others. He's not persecuted a minority group. It's alleged he said a potentially derogatory term to someone on a rugby pitch in the heat of battle. Big frikkin deal.

Old Feller - Can anyone else remember when you were a kid & you were told that "sticks & stones may break your bones but names will never hurt you"? I don't condone what Hardaker may or may not have said nor to whom, BUT we do need to maintain some sense of proportion here. An 8 game ban when you get less for breaking someone's jaw or causing, however accidentally, a career threatening injury? Also am I alone in regretting the loss of the word "gay" in any other context than that of reference to homosexual men? Sometimes I despair of the modern world.

RAM RODD - Have to agree Old Feller. For my money Child and Mick Monas grassed Hardaker up, for something that is probably said 100 times every SL game.

Lord God Jose Mourinho - Ben Westwood's assault in the Grand Final - one match ban. Hardaker's use of the word "faggot" during a game - 5 matches. All of the people who were involved in those decisions should quit RL administration and devote themselves to gay rights, because they are an embarrassment to RL.

Smokey TA - What we saw was lots of fog-knitting from those desperate to defend him that the words he used werent homophobic which doesnt quite tally with a 5 match ban for homophobic abuse.

FlexWheeler - 5 games is a disgrace. You can risk ending a players career and get less games. Yet another microcosm for the soft mollycoddled society we've reared over the last generation. I blame the rfl. Hardakers a martyr.

batleyrhino - Sorry I forgot we are watching tiddlywinks not a full bloodied physical sport. Ask Ian Roberts if he would have a problem with Zak, I'd value his opinion a damn sight more than any of the tools that will post inflammatory crap on here tonight. AND Frankly I think that anyone on this thread who is making a mountain out of a molehill is a "Feckin Faggot"... :ASS:

craigizzard - Are we banning players for trash-talking to the opposition now?

Fat Boy - From what I can tell he's saying "f*cking fat git"

Him - If he'd called the ref/another player a woman what should the punishment be?

GARFORTH LAD - Whilst I do not agree with abusive language, are we not taking this all a bit too far, its a mans game, played in an industrial environment by working class men, who may or may not be homophobic.

Gotcha - Rather than saying he didn't do anything, I would say he didn't do anything that most players do not do in all games, including televised ones. People and the RFL really need to get a grip here.

ThePrinter - Maybe it's not me defending Hardaker, maybe it's actually me not thinking gay people are so precious that they'll be wounded by anybody using the word fag or gay or poof in every single type of context. Perhaps just perhaps they're thicker skinned than some on here give them credit for and have more pressing issues concerning their sexuality than one RL player calling another RL player a fag.

Well I for one am quite happy to stand by what I wrote.
Perhaps you would point out to me where I condoned Hardaker's actions?

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Re: Hardaker : Sat Nov 05, 2016 8:32 pm
Personally, I am more against him joining Cas if that's in the pipeline. Too much of a risk and it doesn't sound like he's changed his lifestyle or his pals.

That said, i do see the lure in getting him back to the Zak of 2015, I'm just unsure about him, very close to his roots. It's not about the coaching and advice on hand anymore it's about him.

Personally I think he stays at leeds ...

He won't be staying at Leeds now, GH has come out in the press saying he expects a deal to be done by the end of next week.

It won't happen but I'd love it if he were to sign for Wigan.

On so many levels I'd love it.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

What are you on about now Sal? I never disputed that people were defending him, lots were. I remember it well, it wasn't that long ago.

But you said...
