Think we need one new half back doubt we'll sign two but lets see how Hooley goes at fb first.With him and Myler contracted next season not convinced a third fb will be on the agenda.

the fact myler is contracted for next year shows how badly the cap has been managed. at his age 2 should have been the maximum he got

We don't need to replace 1,6&7 at once.



But they do need replacing sooner rather than later and we can't get stuck looking in the basement bin last minute because we have stuck with past it players until they literally can't/ quit.



If we don't replace one or two of 1,6 ir 7 then next time we have a huge list to find

Jack Wighton is available for next season. He's 30 and on big money, but would be worth exploring at least.

I wouldn't go there. We need either a proper halfback or a running fullback. Wighton's really a strong running centre but plays 6 for the Raiders because that's where he wants to play. If we did sign him he'd have to be a swap for Austin. No way could you pair them at halfback.

If we were to look at the NRL, I would take brooks in a heartbeat. If Croft can be a star over here, brooks should have a walk in the park. If not, I'd have a look at Brayden trindall or dean Hawkins, both back up halves at their respective clubs. Also Canterbury seem like they won't be keeping Kyle Flanagan beyond this year.

Regardless of who we target, if we're after a decent halfback for next year the search needs to be on now and not left until after everyone has signed, which seems to have been the case too often over the last few years, leading to signing the likes of Lolohea.

Lolohea only became a bad signing in retrospect. When we signed him I think most people were excited at his prospect. The fact that it didnt work out with us is unfortunate. He is still a good player and a proven match winner before and after Leeds

Yeah, agreed. He was actually a good capture by the club. Just wrong place, wrong time…..

We certainly have some major cap to play with now Leeming gone plus a couple more who won't be retained. Should be in the market for some top quality additions.

Will probably need to upgrade the younger stars like O'Connor, Smith and maybe Gannon.

If we release Tet,Sezar,Donaldson and Fusitua we should be able to bring in a HB,upgrade the young uns and look at a FB

O'Connor and Smith both signed new contracts last season, so theres no rush for those two

Lolohea was a mess when we signed him and wasn't playing regularly for Wests, as now one of the worst teams in the NRL. He played just 6 games for them the year he signed for us, and spent the rest of the year in reserve grade. Not sure why anyone would be 'excited' by his signing at all. I know I wasn't.

Lolohea was a complete embarrassment for the club and himself if truth be told.

He'd let himself go physically when he came to us. What Furner should have done is made him get fit before picking him. Furner didn't, and Lolohea was predictably awful, and we ended up having to sign Lui to make sure we stayed up. Lui did a good job but we had to sign him for a year too long because we were a basket case. That's the sort of domino effect that happens if you mess up signings in key positions. I'm happy that Lolohea seems to have turned things round, but he was a disaster for us.



In other news I see Hardaker had a bit of a mare for Leigh tonight....
