Broadbent hat trick! Are any of the young ones putting their hands up for 1st team selection. Realise the standard is probably not the greatest.

Would be interested in your views on Broadbent, Marty. Personally I'd like to see him get a run at centre in the first team, but I don’t profess to be the greatest judge of young players. Do you think he is ready?

Will seem strange to say cos he scored 3 today but he needed to do more today than he did for

me, same with Levi, who ran well, in the 2nd row but didnt do enough. I like Jack, he would do a better job than Briscoe in the centre but is he ready for regular centre play? Hard to say.



Corey got an hour and when he and Sinfield went off for Aldridge and Morgan it all went rubbish really. Edghill did ok at full back.



The opposition was big but very ordinary so hard to judge anyone really.

Fair comment. I think I've got to the point where I think why the hell not, for both of them (Broadbent & Johnson). It's not like the current first first team options are giving them a lot to beat. I might be wrong, but I believe Broadbent is out of contract this year. Would hate to see him leave without finding out what he can really do.

What’s happened to Ben Mayhew ladies and gents?

He is starting to study medicine at university shortly and has therefore stepped away from the game due to time needed on that.

Can anyone give me an objective update on young forward, Danny Salkeld....how's he doing, not seen him play yet?

Weve got a much younger reserve team out at Saints tomorrow at 1pm.

Levi Edwards appears to have been named in the York City Knights squad for their game this weekend. Interesting as he was one of the ones mooted for DR for Fev but nobody has been used yet this season.

Oh dear. I had hoped our young lads would do better than the first team do against Saints. Hope it's not too embarrassing.

Weve done ok actually. 16-6 HT.

Gatus and Aldridge the tryscorers. Sts too big and fast for a young Leeds team.



Interesting that Corey only had 2 short spells. Maybe being kept in case Leeming cops a ban.



Team hung in as best as it could be Saints far too good.

Any good individual performances marty?

Joe Hird played ok, Gatus took his try well and put Aldridge in for the other. Max Simpson went ok.



Team tried hard but well outgunned. Jason Bell dominated us tbh but he should against a team of youngsters.



We stuck at it and hung in well but well beaten.

Yep, and thats the learning curve these lads need, Bells a pretty good SL forward, wish more players like him played reserves.

Really like the look of Hird, be good to see him involved in the first team.

Think he is some way off that at moment Frosties but hes got potential. Needs to fill out and he will be a big lad then.



Weve got some good young talent in the team tho and Hird is right up there
