I don't know what Bateman has done but a fine of £10K (yes £10K) & an 8 week suspension imposed by the club suggests to me that it is way worse than anything Hardaker has done or been accused of doing.

And that is how to deal with a problem, fair play to the Pies. We should be making note.

On what? How to deliver a slap on the wrist for what in any other walk of life would result in a sacking if not custody?

Presumably the police are also investigating this incident?
Could therefore the punishment be far worse as in the case of Bailey and Walker?
Does he still get paid by the club whilst on suspension?

Any police involvement will not be affected by sanctions imposed by Wigan.

I don't know much about what happened however, from what others have said on the Wigan board, the other player involved Involved was Mossop. He played later that week and didn't show to much evidence of being 'glassed' so that is either untrue or massively exaggerated.

All I'm saying is, exceptionally late in the day. To the point I had to check if that was even legal at that stage . If that doesn't mess with your mind what will? He's a bloody human .
