I think sacking is different to redundancy. For redundancy the role has to go, not the person. Especially if you're on a short term (2 year) contract then as long as you are turning up and doing your job compensation has to be paid unless there is something in the contract that says otherwise.
I hope they don't sack him yet (even though his selection has confused me at times) as I'd like to see his team running put next season. Honestly believe recruitment and salary cap management has been our biggest issue.
