Trueman is nowhere near marquee. Everyone knows that. Even Jake himsen.

I would personally much prefer Trueman not on marquee than Connor on marquee. If that's the choice, I'd go Trueman easily.

We need to make something happen, and investing in young british talent has to be the way forward.

If the Trueman Rumour to us is true for 2022 it could make perfect sense and good business by Club I can see us resiging Mclelland on a 2 or 3 year extension, have Trueman & Gale as halfbacks in 2022 and depending on how Gale is feeling could see him retire at end of 2022 or get a 1 year extension and help develop Trueman & Mclelland partnership for them to be our halves for the next 10+ years if form and fitness stayed with them.

I think the Truman situation might depend on how Can get on this season, personally (and I'm sure this will come back to bight me) I think they have stagnated and I think it's tie for Powell to move on, he has done nothing but moan for the last two seasons I think a change of scenery would do both him and the club a world of good. If can flatter to deceive Truemann may think his future is elsewhere. I think he's a cracking young player.

As for who will leave next season, who knows, again spends on how this season goes, get crowds back and some normality players like Prior and Martin might want to stay.

I agree with you on Prior and ive not read anything about Martin wanting to leave come the end of the season.

I think Martin has just said a couple of times that its crap not having fans in the stadium so nothing massive.

From our out of contract players I'd personally like these resigned:

Martin- Solid back rower excellent goal kicker and seems a good leader as well.

Prior- Solid pro does all the hard work and little things well would only offer him 1 year extension due too his age but could maybe maybe 2-3 years left in him just depends if he wants to finish his career in SL or NRL

Hurrell- can be really useful and destructive player but like many have said would only resign him if he's willing to drop some of his marquee money as we have Newman/ Broadbent/ A.sutcliffe/ C.Hall and even L.Sutcliffe who could all be classy centres with more game time.

Holroyd- Him and Oldezki could lead our pack for years to come if they stay fit and continue to develop into the props we know they could be definitely be giving him a 3-4 year extension.

Walters- I'd like him to get an extension and more game time in 17 could be a good second rower if he continues to develop.

Mclelland- needs a little more time and experience before he can be properly judged if he can get some games with Gale as his Partner and play behind a dominate pack he could be a good halfback for the future for us.

A.sutcliffe- Still has a little more development in him and could be a squad player to have for rotation etc.

The rest L.Briscoe, Donaldson, Lui, O'Connor, would have to have really exceptional seasons to get a contract extension for me Donaldson has been a good servant over last few years & he won't be taking up too much cap but could be blocking the pathway for the likes of Smith, A.sutcliffe, Walters. We have T.Briscoe,Handley & Tindall as our wingers so not much need for L.Briscoe in squad anymore, Lui has done what he came in to do for us imo steady our halves when we were facing relegation a couple of years ago but we could find someone better now for our halves with more years in there legs as well. O'Connor looks like one of those players where he won't be outstanding anywhere just can do more of a job in postions doesn't look big enough to play In pack as prop or second rower and not quick enough to be hooker or outside back but be happy for him to prove me wrong. Vuniyayawa needs to play for us first before we judge him so let's see how he gets on.

Mcllelland really needs to impress this year but it's difficult to see him getting much of a run unless we have a medium to long term injury.not being able to send players to fev will hinder some of our lads this year and I'm surprised we haven't loaned a few out

Can see Martin leaving, is his contract up at the end of the year? His missus is pregnant - a return to Oz is on the cards if you ask me mush.

We're already aware of Priors concerns. So you'd assume it is also his last season at Leeds too. Obviously the covid situation could change. But is Prior also into his last season with us? Possible retirement at the end of the year? How old is he? 33?

Could see a side without;

Lui
Martin
Prior
Hurrell

I think it's highly likely Hurrell will stay or at least get offered a new deal (not on marquee money though)
